Pastor
Austin Gardner has been working in church ministry since the age of
nineteen. After starting and pastoring a church in North Georgia, the
Lord sent him and his family to the country of Peru in South America as
missionaries, where they served for twenty years. God blessed the work
there and allowed them to plant over seventy churches, a Bible college,
and a TV station.
Austin also founded the Baptist
College for World Evangelism, a training program for young missionaries.
Austin and Betty have been married since August of 1973. They have four
children who are all serving in the ministry today. God has given them
an exciting vision of evangelizing the world in our generation by
raising up a team of leaders committed to the cause.
God has now led Austin and his wife
Betty to return to the U.S. to begin World Vision Baptist Church and the
Our Generation Training Center. Here the vision that God has given them
and the World Vision team for world evangelization will be grafted into
the heart of a church for the Atlanta area.
"God has a very special plan for our
lives. I believe we can change the world through the Gospel of Jesus
Christ, and I am committed to the global mission of World Vision Baptist
Church. In order to accomplish this vision, however, we must recognize
that it begins right here in Alpharetta. For it is the investment in our
own families and in our own communities that strengthens our local
church, the very foundation upon which we launch our global outreach.
Thank you for the opportunity to work together in reaching the world
with the Gospel of Christ." |
